Veterans Understand

No matter their rank, branch, or profession; every Veteran has a story. All of them carry issues that only other Veterans will understand. We at VHVA aspire to aid as many Veterans as we can in Anderson County, and the surrounding areas. Help us maintain their quality of life by donating today!

Our Story & Origins

VHVA began as a community of fourteen Veterans who were suffering from PTSD. The VA used to facilitate meetings to aid these Veterans, but sadly in 2014 the VA discontinued those meetings. As all Veterans learn to do, the founders pressed on with their grit and determination until they found a new place to meet. The Anderson Elks Club became the very first home of VHVA shortly after. As time went on, they realized that they were not the only Veterans in need of help, and so VHVA was born with a singular goal in mind. To help our Brothers and Sisters back to a quality standard of life.

Today we...

have out-grown our home at the Elks lodge of Anderson. Our ever expanding membership has reached over 300, and just like we did before, we have found a new home. We will have to build it, but hard work has never stopped any Veteran before. Each donation we receive now not only goes towards helping our Brothers and Sisters, but also towards our new home. Once completed we hope to expand our operations and membership. After our new home at 196 Woodburn Ave is constructed, we invite you to come and visit us!

Thank You Anderson

We have finally raised enough money to begin construction of our building. We hope to see you there soon! We would like to extend a very special thanks to the wonderful people of Anderson.

Community Outreach

While veterans are our focus, we strongly believe in community. VHVA holds many events to give back to the community that gives so much to us. Thank you Anderson!
